Moving to my site

Yup, I finally got the blog interface for my site up and running. The new and slightly improved Cerebus Fangirl Blog can be found at http://cerebusfangirl.com/plog/

I liked the blogger interface, but there were a few things I wanted to do, and couldn't and I've got this fear that sooner or later Blogger is going to make us start paying for their service or they'll put ads on our blogs. Like DelphiForums - they used to be free and eventually turned into a pay service.

Hit by a 2 by 4?

Well, I slept in 'till 8am. I woke up at the usual 5:30am when the girl upstairs got up to go to the bathroom. I fell back asleep though luckily. You would think sleeping in 'till 8am would be good right? I went to bed last night 'bout 9:30 pm, I was tired, so the 10.5 hours of sleep really didn't help me. I feel like I was hit in the face by a 2 by 4, or maybe just a brick. gah.

Ahhh, Four Day Weekend

For absolutely no reason.

We have this Monday off for President's Day. Whoop. And I took Tuesday off 'cause Fridays are usually so laid back I rather take Tuesday off. So I took Tuesday off. For just the heck of it.

And what am I going to do? A lot of nothing. I was thinking of seeing a movie, but meh, we'll see. For now it is four days of just relaxing and not stressing about work. gah!

Not just a good day, a great day

yeah, it was a great day, not just a good day.

I got my first four stage etch correct today. Of course, it took me a retool, and I still had two dimensions out on the first piece ~ two radii, one which I drew sharp 'cause I thought it would round off, on the first first piece it was too rounded and the other, I don't know why that wasn't rounded enough, I'll have to look at it. Plus a bunch of other stuff went right at work, and I got some compliments, and joked around with the boss - in a good way - it was just a great day.

either that or someone put uppers in my coke. umm.

Buffeeee!

Ahhh, the joys of Buffy: TVS. I just got season 5 disc one from netflix. ahhh. the joys of Buffy - lots of ass kicking, female empowerment, and not to mention funnies! now i know why people watch teevee - the last three hours just flew by, i was totally entralled by it, not really a television, but my computer watch passes as one when i watch dvds. pure escape from reality. forget about work. about money problems. about the love life. everything. and just enjoy the moment of watching a teevee show.

umm.

One of those days

My cold is still around. sneezing. snot. more sneezing. argh. And then stupid / silly things going on at work that I just say, WTF? really - WTF? and shake my head.

in good news, my sister got engaged to her long time boyfriend Chris. And the ring is amazing, this huge rock and platinum.

colds, argh

So I took that cold medicine last night. It worked, making me sneeze no more, and I could kinda breath thru my nose. I also feel asleep early, as it had anti-histamines in it for the allergy part. But it was a tossing turning kind of fitful sleep. I woke up this morning at the usual 5:45 am as the jackass with the large suv started it up and kept it going for 10 minutes.

now I'm starting to get a headache (sinus ache) and my nose is running. I better take some aspirin for the headache. I don't know 'bout the cold medicine though - I got some for daytime, but I don't know how it will impair me, physically or mentally, and I don't need that at work.

Luckily for me this weekend is a four day weekend. woohoo!

Woot! Drugs!

Woot! Thank god for drugs. i got some over the counter anti-allergy anti-sinus headache anti-feel crapy drugs. I got one for night time and one for day time. i was afraid that if i took the night time one i'd fall alseep / get drowsy. and i was afraid that if i took the day time one before bed, then i'd be up all night.

hey, as long as my icky allergy / head cold disappears, i'll be happy. yeah, yesterday i thought it was an allergy thing, and that it might be. but i get up for work this morning, feeling like a truck ran me over. at work this morning, i couldn't concentrate, i just zoned off, lalalala forgot what i was doing.

and then i go shopping, buy some drugs - and my sneezing is gone. my nose just stopped running, and i'm feeling light headed - woot! and a bit drowsy. i'll prolly end up going to bed early, but as long as i feel good, and i wake up feeling good, then who the hell cares, right?

Stuffy achy head feeling

ohhh, my head. It feels like it is two sizes too big for its skin. argh. And all the snot I've been blowing out of it, you think that would drain some of it.

but it isn't a cold. My snot ain't green or yellow, it's clear, and that is what my mama (the RN) stated one of the tell-a-tale signs of a cold. And it is only one nostril that is acting goofy. This morning my left eye (the same side of the face that my one nostril is flipping out) started to tear up. And the sneezing, oy vey.

So some kinda allergy it is. Ick.

Another day, more dishes to do

No matter how many times I ask / tell the cat to do the dishes he never does them. Prehaps he knows that I enjoy doing the dishes - it is my fave "chore". now vacuuming, i dislike that. I didn't mind mowing the lawn either while I was home - but i like to do it on my time, when i want to. i dislike being told to mow the lawn, or do the dishes, etc.

Bedtime!

No wonder I've been getting up earlier and earlier - I've been going to been eariler and eariler. Like today, it's 8:30pm and I'm exhausted. Of course, I woke up at 5:30am, tried to get back to sleep but just got up 'bout 6am. ::yawn::

maybe playing a litte GTA: Vice City will help.

Give your opinion

Do you like to give your opinion? I know I do. Go to PollingPoint "A Nationwide Network of Millions of People Inspiring Debate" where you can take "surveys" in such topics as gay marriage, are we headed in the right direction?, to the silly as "Pet Peeves: What annoys you the most?".

Day to Day

Almost the weekend. Almost. Though, work has been going okay lately. A good eval, a pay raise, kudos from the boss and even the President of the company.

but yet, i long for the weekend. why is that? is it 'cause everytime i go to work i feel nervous - well, not everytime. . .there are certain aspects of work i enjoy more then the others. those aspects i enjoy are when something goes as i thought it would, as i planned, but when something doesn't go as i like - it frustrates me, why didn't it go the way i thought? and trying to figure out why, i sometimes can't do that in a hurry, but yet everyone expects me too - well, almost everyone.

"margaret, this job is late, we need to ship it" and i want to say, well, it's fucked up, and i need to figure out why it is fucked up and fixed it so it won't happen again - and no one wants to say they did it, even accidently. i don't care what happened, i just don't want it to happen again, do you know what i'm saying? so you accidently over-etched it, don't let it happen again. damn. and if it is happening on a regular basis, what can i do to make your job easier so it doesn't happen? i can't pull miracles out of my arse, but I can try and help.

SPACE Con 2005

Will be the fourth annual gathering of Cerebites.

Of course, the first year, it was just me and Tony P. (TIP!). The next year a few more people showed up. And last year there were about 20 of us. Of course, last year was the first convention after the ending of Cerebus which Dave and Ger showed up. Hopefully there'll be as many people, if not more, from the Yahoo!Group as there were last year.

I got my hotel reservation a couple weeks ago. And this past weekend I got my plane reservations on SouthWest. Pretty cheap too. Woot! I can't wait. Should be tons of fun.

Oh, yeah - it is in Columbus, Ohio on April 16. wee! and I asked for the time off yesterday. Well, I asked for April 15 & April 18th off.

Another Super Bowl Victory

Part of me still can't believe it. The other part of me is like "ohhh, yeah, you knew they could do it after how they won against Indy and then Pittsburgh."

A third Super Bowl victory in four years. Some new records were made, other records tied. And the season were we saw the Patriots roll to 21 straight victories, 9 play off victories in a row, and a second straight Super Bowl victory is complete. Amazing.

I could give every single Patriot player a hug and a huge thanks. Thanks for giving this to New England: not just another Super Bowl trophy, but a reason to hold our heads up high, and wear our Pats' jerseys with pride!

Woot! Pats Win Another Super Bowl!

The third Super Bowl in four years!

I never thought I'd see the day. I just wanted to post someting real quick - as I just got back from watching it over at a friend's house. When I came home, all the lights in the apartment complex were still on, everyone was still up, prolly watching post game stuff. Super Bowl champs, again! woot!

Nothing To Rant About

Is it just that I have nothing to rant about or I just don't care?

Oh, I care alright. Well, just enough to vote and write my elected officials when something tees me off. You all know that I don't have a teevee, so I get my news from the newspaper, the internet and NPR. I know the President made a his State of the Union speech this past week, but I don't really care to read it. Much less comment on it.

But this AP wire on "Cheney Says Budget Will Be Tightest Yet" just reminded me why I voted Libertarian:
"We are being tight," Cheney said. "This is the tightest budget that has been submitted since we got here."
That shouldn't be hard since we've been running a deficit since Bush took office. But what price this new budget? Will they be buying a few less B1 bombers and M16A2 tanks? Umm, no:
Cheney said the budget proposal President Bush was submitted Monday increases spending on the military and homeland security.
So where are the cuts going to be taken?
The budget seeks savings from about 150 programs, including Amtrak, environmental protection, American Indian schools, farmers' subsidies and Medicaid, the federal-state health program for the poor and disabled.
Umm. Well, maybe the Liberal Media are blowing this all out of proportion? Thanks to Google I found the "Budget of the United States Government Fiscal Year 2005" on the White House website. Reading though it, all that is promoted is "Enchanced Security, Restraint Elsewhere" (ohh, I just had a flashback to the cold war: lets cut back on social programs so we can make more bombs! weee!). And indeed, picking around through the site, some tables state that while we spend $402B on Defense (not including the $30B for "Homeland Security") we spend $386B on other areas of the government. For the past four years the spending for other areas of the government was a bit more (not much) then the defense spending.

If only I could run my budget like the United States government does. I'd be putting more then half of it into buying myself personal security guards, hiring some thugs to go beat up people that irrate me, installing overly expensive and yet surprisingly uneffective security alarm systems, and buying every weapons system that I could get my hands on. Then I might think about a little for rent, maybe some for presents for my family members' birthdays, Christmas, etc, just enough for food, and to hell with heath benefits. And I would spend twice as much as I make. Weeee!

One More Day: Super Bowl!

Woot! I can't wait. I've been waiting for 2 weeks. All that I've been listening to on the sports radio (103.7 WEEI) is Patriots this, Patriots that with a little Eagles stuff thrown in. While I'm eagerly awaiting it, ,at the same time I'm dreading it.

Why put it on at 6:30pm on a Sunday? What the heck are these people thinking? The game will prolly get over about 10pm, 10:30pm if the half time show is long as usual. Some of us go to a "super bowl party" and will have to drive home (sober of cost) - so we won't get up 'till 11pm. And then have to wake up early for work.

Gah!

A good nights sleep

Finally, I had a decent night's sleep. Of course I still woke up at 5am, and then at 5:45 when the jackass started his suv and "warmed it up" for five minutes before leaving. But this night, unlike the past week, I actually just rolled back over and went right back to sleep. it was quite nice.

work on the other hand. i got all stressed out this morning. but it got better as the day progressed. until I found I have to cover tomorrow: 4 hours, 8am to noon. ick. though i did get kudos from the company president, which was kinda nice.

and the Patriots play in the Super Bowl this weekend against the Philly Eagles. Weeee!

This is just crazy

I woke up at 4:45am this morning. I tossed. I turned. I eventually just got up at 5am.

5am!

Gah. I started a pot of coffee, surfed the net, got ready for work. 'Bout 6am I was starting to get a little tired, but repeated cups of coffee helped me wake up and by the time I was ready to leave for work, I was up and about.

I figure it is cause I went to bed at 9pm last night. But still, I've gone to bed "that early" before and sleep in until my alarm goes off at 6am or 6:30am (depending on if I want to check email before I go to work or not). Now here it is, 8:37pm and I'm soooo tired. Umm. I'm off to play some GTA: Vice City - that can usually get my heart pumping.

Evaluation Day

Once again, it was evaluation.

I got the same glowing remarks, a raise and just, well, the usual. Which I guess is good, as the evaluation was good. Though I wish I heard more praise through the year rather then just one day.

The Alarm was set for 6:33am

But I got up 'bout 5:45am.

Well, earlier then that - there sounded like there was some construction traffic going on. you know, the back up beep-beep-beep and the sound of heavy equipment? I tossed and turned. And then the guy who every morning (sometimes weekends!) started his large SUV and let it run for five minutes. I would say it is to warm up the car, but he does this during the summer, when it is even more a pain in the tookus 'cause then I like to sleep with my window open, and then his SUV is even louder. One Sunday when I was already up I heard the familar sound, so I got up and checked outside and it was some guy in a large SUV (thing Ford Explosion, not a real SUV, a joke, seesh).

And the upstairs neigbhor either heard him or decided it wasn't her day to wake up, 'cause her alarm which lately has been going off at 5:45am didn't go off. And I didn't hear her get out of bed - usually she jumps up out of bed rushing to the alarm clock on the other side of the room. Then the place is usually silent again - if she just falls back asleep, I don't know, but that seems like a lot of work to get up just to fall back asleep again.

And that jackass with the SUV, seesh. I wish he'd park it around the other side of the building, so maybe it wouldn't sound as loud. Or buy a Hybrid car.
